One of the best shows you're not watching

A friend of mine recently turned me on to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a new comedy from FX Networks that debuted late last year. FX greenlit the series after seeing the pilot which was shot by 3 friends for only $200. The first season was only 7 episodes long, but let me tell you... all of the episodes were absolutely hilarious. With great shows like Arrested Development off the air now, it's nice to find a new series to fill the comedy void that isn't being filled by the regular networks.

The series, created by Rob McElhenney who also plays Mac on the show, revolves around four friends who run a bar in South Philly. They all have their own insensitive and twisted view on the world and relationships, and we watch as they fumble their way through prickly situations involving controversial topics such as racism, abortion, gun control, and more. Trust me... it's great!

Some of the episodes are currently being rerun on Fox, and Danny Devito joins the cast when season 2 premieres on June 29th at 10:30pm on FX. So set your Tivos people! You can also get the entire first season on iTunes.

UPDATE: The second season is also available on iTunes. They seem to regularly update the offering with the latest episodes.

UPDATE 2 : For anyone new to the show, check out the Best of Sunny Funnies, also available on iTunes. It's a montage of the funniest moments to date from the show (approx. 4mins long). This one's FREE, people, so there's no excuse not to check it out.
